The All Progressives Congress has announced the reopening of its electronic membership registration exercise nationwide from August 31, 2026, as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The party said the exercise would be conducted across all wards in the country, with existing members expected to validate their membership records, while new and intending members would be given the opportunity to register.
The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja.
Morka urged party members, supporters and stakeholders across the country to participate actively in the registration exercise, describing it as an important step towards strengthening the party ahead of the next general elections.
According to him, the exercise is primarily aimed at digitising the APC’s membership register and ensuring that the party maintains accurate and reliable records of its members.

“The E-Registration Exercise is designed to digitise the Party’s membership register, ensure the integrity of membership records, enhance efficient access to membership data for planning and management decisions, promote internal democracy, and strengthen the Party’s commitment to democratic innovation in Nigeria,” Morka said.
The party explained that existing members would be required to validate their details as part of efforts to improve the accuracy of its membership database.
New members and intending members, meanwhile, are expected to register electronically and become formally captured in the party’s database.
The APC said the digital registration system would provide easier access to membership information and improve the party’s ability to plan, manage and coordinate its activities across the country.
The exercise is also expected to strengthen internal party administration and support the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, when President Bola Tinubu is expected to seek re-election.
The party stressed that prospective registrants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number.
The reopening of the registration exercise comes amid heightened political activities and realignments across Nigeria as political parties and aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With the exercise scheduled to commence on August 31, the APC is expected to use the updated membership database to strengthen its grassroots structures and improve mobilisation across the country.
