Nigeria’s D’Tigress opened their World Cup campaign on a disappointing note after suffering a 99–81 defeat to South Korea in Berlin on Friday.
The Nigerian women stayed firmly in contention during the opening half, going into the break just three points behind their opponents.
However, South Korea stepped up the pressure after the interval and gradually pulled away from the African champions.

Korea edged the third quarter 20–17 before producing a dominant 31–19 performance in the final quarter to seal a convincing victory.
Despite the setback, D’Tigress will have little time to dwell on the result, with another crucial fixture coming up on Saturday.
The Nigerian side will be hoping to quickly regroup, address their second-half struggles and return to winning ways in their next World Cup outing.
The defeat marks a difficult start to the tournament, but D’Tigress still have an opportunity to respond strongly and keep their campaign on track.
