The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted thunderstorms and rainfall across several parts of the country between Monday and Wednesday.
The weather forecast, released by NiMet on Sunday in Abuja, also warned that strong winds could accompany or precede thunderstorms in some locations.
For Monday, the agency forecast thunderstorms with light rainfall over parts of Taraba and Kebbi during the morning hours.
It said scattered thunderstorms and moderate rainfall would occur across parts of the North-East, Kaduna, Taraba and Kebbi later in the day.
In the North-Central region, NiMet predicted morning thunderstorms with light rain over parts of Niger State, followed by moderate rainfall across most parts of the region in the afternoon or evening.
The agency also forecast cloudy conditions over the southern states on Monday morning, with isolated thunderstorms and light rain expected in parts of Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River.
It added that thunderstorms accompanied by light rain were likely across the southern region later in the day.
For Tuesday, NiMet forecast patches of cloud over the northern region in the morning, with thunderstorms and light rain expected over parts of Taraba.
By the afternoon or evening, most parts of the North were expected to experience thunderstorms with moderate rainfall.
In the North-Central region, partly cloudy skies were forecast for the morning, while thunderstorms and moderate rain were expected later in the day over parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Nasarawa and Plateau states.
Across the South, the agency predicted mostly cloudy skies in the morning, followed by thunderstorms and light rain over parts of Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia and the South-South.
NiMet said Wednesday would also bring unstable weather conditions across several parts of the country.
It forecast partly cloudy skies over the North in the morning, with thunderstorms and moderate rainfall expected in Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Kaduna, Adamawa and Taraba.

The agency further predicted moderate thunderstorms across most parts of the northern region later on Wednesday.
For the North-Central states, partly cloudy conditions were expected in the morning, with isolated thunderstorms and light rain over parts of the FCT, Plateau, Niger and Nasarawa.
Moderate thunderstorms were forecast across most parts of the region later in the day.
In the southern region, NiMet predicted cloudy conditions during the morning and thunderstorms with moderate rainfall across most areas later on Wednesday.
The agency urged residents to take precautions, particularly in areas where strong winds may precede thunderstorms.
NiMet advised residents to secure loose objects that could be blown away or cause injuries during storms.
It also urged motorists to avoid driving during heavy rainfall and advised residents to disconnect electrical appliances from power sockets during thunderstorms.
The agency warned residents to stay away from tall trees to reduce the risk of injury from falling branches or trees.
For aviation operators, NiMet advised airlines to obtain airport-specific weather reports and other relevant flight documentation to support safe operational planning.
The agency encouraged members of the public to remain updated through its official weather forecasts and advisories.
