The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a fresh weather warning, forecasting widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across the country from Monday, September 29, 2025, through Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
According to the agency, the rainfall is expected to be moderate to heavy, accompanied by thunderstorms in several states, particularly in the south-south, south-east, and north-central regions.
NiMet advised residents to take necessary precautions to mitigate flooding, strong winds, and lightning strikes.
The meteorological body also warned that the heavy downpours could disrupt road transport, outdoor activities, and farming operations in affected areas.
