The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has restored its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) after a temporary disruption, allowing institutions to continue processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement issued on Monday, September 28, the board confirmed that the platform was “fully restored and is now operational” and urged schools to intensify their admission activities to make up for the time lost during the disruption.
The board said, “With CAPS back online, institutions are urged to accelerate their admission processes to recover lost time and meet the agreed admission deadlines.”
JAMB also advised prospective students to respond promptly to admission offers by accepting them once they are made available on the platform.
According to the board, public universities must complete their admission exercise by October 31, 2026, while private universities have until November 30.
Other tertiary institutions have been given until December 31, 2026, to conclude their admission processes.

JAMB further called on candidates who had earlier indicated that they were awaiting examination results to update their records following the release of the 2026 National Examinations Council Senior School Certificate Examination results.
The board said candidates should upload or verify their results without delay to ensure that their academic credentials are available to institutions considering them for admission.
The statement read, “JAMB wishes to inform candidates, institutions and other stakeholders that the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) has been fully restored and is now operational, following the temporary disruption.”
It added, “Following the release of the 2026 NECO SSCE results, candidates who previously awaited their results are advised to upload and/or verify them promptly to ensure their credentials are available for consideration as institutions intensify their admission processes.”
JAMB said the restoration should enable institutions and candidates to proceed with the admission exercise within the approved schedule.
The board also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption and thanked candidates, institutions and other stakeholders for their patience and understanding.
It urged all concerned to take advantage of the restored CAPS platform and complete the necessary admission procedures before the applicable deadlines.
