Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have neutralised a suspected terrorist and arrested another during an offensive operation in Ukum Local Government Area of Benue State.
According to security sources on Wednesday, the operation was conducted at Kyado, where the troops engaged suspected terrorists at the Pevikya terrorist enclave in Adomanyi.
During the encounter, the troops neutralised one suspected terrorist and apprehended one other, while the rest members of the group reportedly fled the area.

The troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle magazine from the fleeing suspects.
The recovered item, alongside the arrested suspect, has been taken into military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation Whirl Stroke to disrupt terrorist activities and strengthen security across vulnerable communities in Benue State.
