Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has attributed her defeat to reality TV star Phyna in their celebrity boxing bout to her limited preparation for the fight.
Phyna defeated Nkechi Blessing by a fourth-round knockout in the early hours of Friday, October 2, following a highly anticipated contest that attracted significant attention from fans and social media users.
Speaking during a live session on social media after the fight, Nkechi Blessing said she had trained for only two days before stepping into the ring.
The actress also claimed that Phyna had spent considerably more time preparing for the bout, while insisting that she would have won under different circumstances.
“I’m not a boxer and I only train for two days. Do you know how long Phyna had been training? She was running, I told her to come close, why are you running like a woman? Why are you fighting like a woman. I would have beaten her,” she said.

The bout followed a tense build-up between the two entertainers, whose rivalry intensified during promotional activities leading up to the October 1 event.
Their exchanges reportedly became heated at a press event before the confrontation turned physical, prompting organisers to intervene and separate them.
Inside the ring, Phyna relied on her movement and speed from the opening bell, moving around the ring while landing punches and limiting prolonged exchanges with the actress.
The reality TV star eventually secured the knockout in the fourth round, bringing the much-publicised celebrity contest to an end.
The fight formed part of the wider “Chaos in the Ring” event, which also featured other dramatic moments, including a confrontation involving content creator Carter Efe and entertainer Speed Darlington.
