Dayo Israel, the national youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has faced criticism online following his announcement that he distributed brand-new 2026 Toyota Prado SUVs to selected youth leaders to support the party’s election mobilisation efforts.
Israel disclosed the development in a post on Sunday, in which he expressed appreciation to the wife of President Bola Tinubu, Oluremi Tinubu, for supporting the party’s structure under his leadership.
He said the vehicles were presented to selected youth leaders to facilitate their mobilisation activities ahead of the elections.
“Today, I presented brand new 2026 Prado to my committed selected youth leaders to aid their election mobilisation activities. I am grateful to my Mummy, H.E Mrs Oluremi Tinubu for her continuous support to the party structure under my leadership,” he wrote.
“The party is supreme and that supremacy will show in our actions in this election period — we will deliver polling unit by polling unit.”

However, Israel did not disclose the total cost of the vehicles or explain the source of funding for their purchase.
The post was deleted about three hours after publication, but it had already attracted reactions on X, where several users questioned the timing and circumstances surrounding the reported distribution.
One X user, Harmless, criticised the announcement against the backdrop of the country’s economic difficulties, referencing President Tinubu’s recent comments in Kaduna.
“Yesterday in Kaduna, Tinubu was blaming the opposition for the hunger and hardship in the country. Today, Dayo Israel, APC youth leader is casually dashing out 2026 Prado SUV to his fellow youth leaders,” the user wrote.
Another user, Prince Adeshina, questioned the source of funding for the vehicles, contrasting the reported purchase with shortages of medical equipment in Nigerian hospitals.
“Most hospitals in Nigeria don’t have MRI machines, yet Dayo Israel, a national youth leader of the APC, can buy seven 2026 Prados for his friends? Where did he get the money?” he wrote.
