American singer Chris Brown appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London on Monday, October 26, 2026, for sentencing over an attack on music producer Abraham Diaw at a Mayfair nightclub in February 2023.
Brown, 37, pleaded guilty to affray on July 24, 2026, alongside co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, 40, in connection with the incident at Tape nightclub in the early hours of February 19, 2023.
Prosecutors alleged that Brown struck Diaw twice on the head with a glass bottle, while Akinlolu also participated in the assault. Diaw sustained injuries requiring hospital treatment.
Both men had initially denied more serious charges, including attempted grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Those charges were dropped following their guilty pleas to affray, an offence involving the use or threat of unlawful violence.
Affray carries a maximum prison sentence of three years in England and Wales, although a suspended sentence is possible.

Supporters gathered outside the courthouse before proceedings began, with some arriving around 7 a.m. GMT carrying merchandise associated with the singer.
Brown was arrested in Manchester on May 15, 2025, after returning to Britain for the first time since the incident.
His detention threatened to disrupt his international Breezy Bowl XX tour, but he was later granted bail after agreeing to provide £5 million in security.
The case adds to Brown’s history of legal troubles. In 2009, he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, in California.
He received five years’ probation, six months of community labour and a year of domestic violence counselling.
Monday’s hearing concerns the separate London case, with the court due to determine the penalty for Brown’s affray conviction.
