Two police officers is said to have been injured and the whereabouts of one not yet known after gunmen attacked another police station in Imo early hours of Thursday morning.
The latest attack was staged against Mbieri divisional police headquarters in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state.
The police spokesman in the state,
Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed the attack said the two injured police officers were putting up a resistance to the attack when they got injured.
According to him, the attackers set free some suspects held in the police station.
There have been incessant attacks on police stations in Imo State and some other South-East states in recent times.
Among these attacks include the attack on the police command headquarters in Owerri, Imo state capital, on Monday.
The Monday attack was also extended to the Correctional home in Owerri, which saw gunmen reportedly freed over 1,700 prisoners.
The former Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, had accused members of the Indigenous People of Biafra of being behind the attacks, an allegation the group had since refuted.
