Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of the chairman of Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State, Philemon Kingoli.
The state police spokesman, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the kidnap of Kingoli Thursday morning.
He said that the state police was making every necessary efforts to free the victim.
Unknown gunmen were said to have kidnapped the council chairman in the early hours of Wednesday along the Peter Odili Road axis of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
As at the time this report was filed, the kidnappers, it was learnt, were yet to contact family members of Kingoli.
