SOJI AJIBOLA, IBADAN
Nigerian Labour Congress, Oyo State chapter has called on the Federal Government to proffer a lasting solution to the state of insecurity nationwide.
The NLC Chairman in the state, Comrade Kayode Martins, in his International Workers Day message, said it is high the Federal Government took the issue of security serious.
He said the security situation across the country was appalling as cases of kidnapping, ritual killings, banditry and other vices are witnessing a geometric increase on daily basis.
He said that the situation has begun to take its tolls on the nation’s economy.
Also, he warned the government against removal of minimum wage from the executive list to the concurrent list.
He lamented that there are attempts by a section of Nigeria’s ruling class to kill the National Minimum Wage by removing it as an item from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent Legislative List.
