No fewer than seven people have been feared dead in a road crash involving police special forces along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.
But the cause of the crash was not immediately clear.
According to witnesses, the crash occurred around 4:30pm near the Military Cantonment in Jaji, when a speeding 18-seater bus carrying a team of fully armed policemen somersaulted.
Although no one could ascertain where they were coming from, they were heading towards Zaria from Kaduna when the accident occurred.
“It was a terrible accident because I counted about seven bodies of policemen in the middle of the road. Two were seriously injured while others survived,” a driver said.
State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Jalige, said a team of policemen had been sent to the scene of the accident to find out what actually happened.
