Convention: PDP in suspense as court reserves ruling on Secondus appeal

The Peoples Democratic Party has been left in suspense on whether its national convention holds October 30 and 31 as scheduled.

This is as the Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Thursday reserved ruling till Friday, October 29, on an appeal filed by the suspended National Chairman of the  party, Prince Uche Secondus, praying the court to suspend the planned convention in Abuja.

The three-man panel, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, after presiding over the adoption of written addresses from the legal counsel for Secondus, Tayo Oyetibo, SAN and 11 respondents, reserved ruling till Friday.

Earlier, PDP’s counsel (6th respondent), S.I. Ameh, opposed the application of Secondus’ counsel and prayed the court to strike it out.

Ameh argued that the application sought the suspension of the convention without the hearing of the main appeal.
