The All Progressives Congress has defeated the Peoples Democratic Party in the bye-elections conducted in Ondo, Imo, and Cross River states.
This is according to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the bye-elections conducted in the three states on Saturday.
In Ondo State, APC’s candidate, Mayokun Alade, won the Akure North/South Federal Constituency. He polled a total of 26,370 votes to defeat his closest rival, Olumuyiwa Adu of the PDP, who had 24,201 votes.
The election result was announced by the election collation officer, Professor Rufus Ogunseemi of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, at the collation centre, Akure.
In Imo State, Blyden Amajurionwu of the APC won the Ngor-Okpala State Constituency bye-election.
The APC candidate polled 9,248 votes to defeat his closest rival from the PDP, who scored 7,161 votes.
Also in the bye-election in Cross River State, Jude Ngaji of the APC was declared winner of the Ogoja/ Yala Federal Constituency.
Ngaji got a total vote of 22,778 to beat his closest opponent of the PDP who scored a total of 20,590.
