Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, on Thursday, arrested the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo.
Oluomo was said to have been arrested by operatives of the anti-graft agency at the Muritala Muhammad Airport, Lagos State, following a tip-off.
It was further learnt that Oluomo was arrested over allegations bordering on financial crimes.
The Speaker was said to have been arrested on Thursday morning at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
Oluomo is also said to be currently undergoing questioning in EFCC custody.
It was learnt that the Ogun Assembly Speaker had been on EFCC’s wanted list following his due to his failure to honour several invitations from the anti-graft agency.
Oluomo and some other persons were accused of forging signatures and financial documents of the Assembly.
EFCC has yet to issue any statement on the Ogun Speaker’s arrest as of the time of filing this report.
