A 33-year-old woman, Basirat Babatunde, has been arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, for allegedly hitting a man with her fist on his chest on Tuesday.
The woman, who is facing a three-count charge of assault and unlawful interference, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Adegeshin Famuyiwa, said the defendant committed the offence on August 12 around 3pm at No 264, Sagamu Road, by Farm Settlement, Odogunyan in Ikorodu.
According to the prosecutor, the defendant assaulted one Alhaji Kamorudeen Lamina by slapping him on the face.
Famuyiwa added that the offence contravenes Sections 172, 172 and 340 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr B. A Sonuga, granted the defendant N200,000 bail with two responsible sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until September 17, for mention.
Sonuga noted that the address of the defendant must be verified.
