Cherubim and Seraphim(C&S) Church says it plans to train small and medium scale business owners on how to reposition their businesses during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The convener, Mr Segun Odufuwa, said in Lagos on Tuesday that the training (a business hangout), which will hold this month, is aimed at preparing business owners for the future after the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said, “With the whole world seemingly consumed by the current crisis of coronavirus, it may be difficult to see further than the basic actions needed to ensure business continuity.

“However, businesses should look beyond that and consider how to use the current pandemic to find new relevance, not only during uncertain times, but also to prepare for the future.

“Businesses, both small and medium-scale, remain a key component of economy. More recently, the new word in the business circle is “leverage.”

“More particularly in a church such as C&S, there is a need for us to leverage and create a networking system for businesses and business owners, and this is what has given birth to business hangout.

“This is a special training and networking event aimed at creating a real-life experience sharing session with business owners in the C & S fold.

“This is to create a platform for business owners, entrepreneurs, policy makers and business enthusiasts to network and leverage.

“Also open the minds of participants to investment and business opportunities that exist or that can be transposed.

“It is also to create opportunity for business owners and entrepreneurs to learn and get exposed to new business models and business ideas.”

He noted that a seed grant would be given to five entrepreneurs during the event to support their business.

“This event is tailored specifically for business owners, entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts.,” he said.

Chairman, Lagos State Youth Fellowship, Bro Muyiwa Odedina, who was also one of the resource persons and brains behind the programme, said it would enable some entrepreneurs to get back to business despite the effects of the pandemic.

Odedina urged the entrepreneurs to make use of the experience they acquire at the event and maximise their potentials to expand their businesses.
