Abdulsalami visits Tinubu at State House

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu held a meeting with former military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, at the State House in Abuja.

This marked the first meeting between the two leaders since Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29.

Earlier in the week, Tinubu had also met with former President Goodluck Jonathan, who visited the Villa to brief the President on his peace mission to Mali.

The specific agenda of the meeting between Tinubu and the former head of state was not disclosed at the time of filing this report.

It is worth noting that Abubakar had chaired the National Peace Committee, which played a significant role in bringing together all major candidates in the February 25 Presidential election to sign a peace accord aimed at reducing tensions during and after the polls.
