Abia PDP Chief Mocks Ex-Deputy Gov’s Backing of Otti’s Re-Election

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, Abraham Amah, has responded to the endorsement of Governor Alex Otti’s re-election by former deputy governor Ude Oko Chukwu, describing it as “survivalist instinct dressed in borrowed robes of loyalty.”

Amah said he has received several inquiries regarding Oko Chukwu’s recent political moves and accused him of attempting to reposition himself ahead of others in Abia politics.

While acknowledging that Oko Chukwu has every right to support or associate with any politician, Amah maintained that the former deputy governor owes the PDP gratitude for his uninterrupted two-decade run in power.

“It is therefore curious and regrettably laughable that a man who occupied the corridors of power for twenty unbroken years under the PDP now seeks to rebrand himself by courting the Otti-led administration, with whispered ambitions of displacing the true labourers of that vineyard,” he said.

The PDP chairman insisted that the party remains focused and unfazed by political exits.

He added that the party is closely monitoring what he described as ongoing acts of “political acrobatics.”

He urged party faithful to stay grounded, saying “the taproot of loyalty and truth remains immovable.”
