In a major move to reshape leadership at the Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu, the Abia State Government has ordered the immediate suspension of Professor Vincent Onwe, Provost of the institution.
Following this decision, the State Government appointed Dr Abdulkarim Jibril, the current Deputy Provost, to serve as the acting Provost.
This development was revealed in a government statement signed by Ikechuckwu Uwanna.
According to the statement, the suspension of Professor Onwe was approved by Governor Alex Otti as part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and the smooth administration of the institution.

The government directed that Dr Abdulkarim Jibril is expected to assume responsibilities immediately and oversee the day-to-day operations of the college pending further directives.
Staff, students, and stakeholders were urged by the Abia State Government to give their full cooperation and support to the acting Provost as he carries out his duties.
The statement also reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to promoting integrity and good governance in the management of its public institutions.
