Abiodun Unveils ₦1bn AI Classroom For Ogun School

The Ogun State Government has commenced the construction of a 900-seater Artificial Intelligence-powered digital classroom complex valued at ₦1 billion at Remo Secondary School, Sagamu, as part of efforts to strengthen technology-driven education in the state.

Governor Dapo Abiodun disclosed this on Saturday during the school’s 80th anniversary celebration, held on the school premises.

In a statement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, the governor said the ultra-modern digital classroom complex was a strategic investment designed to equip students with skills required for the 21st-century knowledge economy.

Abiodun explained that the facility forms part of broader smart-learning initiatives at the school, which include a resource centre and a fully equipped robotics laboratory aimed at promoting innovation, creativity and advanced digital skills among students.

As part of continued support for the institution, the governor announced a ₦100 million donation, pledging to release ₦50 million — representing 50 per cent of the amount — in the coming week.

He also assured that before the end of his tenure, the state government would begin and complete at least one of the ongoing projects at the school.

The governor further revealed that the state government had remodelled the school’s science laboratories to meet modern standards and equipped them with contemporary instructional tools to provide a safe and conducive learning environment.

According to him, both the boys’ and girls’ hostels had also been rehabilitated to enhance students’ comfort, safety and overall welfare.

Describing Remo Secondary School as a heritage institution, Abiodun said the anniversary celebration symbolised the preservation of a living legacy, adding that the school had been designated as one of the state’s flagship institutions.

He commended the school’s alumni for their contributions to its development, noting that their efforts reflected a collective commitment to sustaining excellence.

The governor urged students of the institution to embrace learning with passion, uphold integrity and strive to maintain the legacy of excellence established by past generations.
