FG Launches ‘Inspire Lives’ Virtual Classroom Platform to Boost Quality Education

The federal government has unveiled Inspire Lives, a new digital learning platform designed to deliver real-time virtual classes to primary and secondary school pupils across Nigeria.

The initiative, announced on Tuesday by Boriowo Folasade, spokesperson of the federal ministry of education, aims to close gaps in teacher availability while ensuring that learning continues uninterrupted nationwide.

According to the ministry, Inspire Lives will leverage modern technology to beam live, interactive lessons directly to learners, regardless of their location, economic background, or school infrastructure.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, said the programme will initially stream lessons daily for junior and senior secondary school students, with plans already underway to extend the service to primary school pupils.

Under the schedule, classes will run Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The virtual classroom covers a wide range of subjects.
For junior secondary students, the offering includes Basic Science, Mathematics, English Language, ICT, Agricultural Science, Basic Technology, Civic Education, French, Physical Education, Religious Studies, History, and Business Studies.

Senior secondary students will have access to courses such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing/Catering Craft, Civic Education, and Automobile Mechanics.

To guarantee high-quality instruction, the ministry said the lessons will be delivered by certified master teachers via Cisco Webex.

As part of the rollout strategy, state commissioners of education have been directed to appoint focal officers who will coordinate the programme locally.

Their responsibilities include disseminating information to school principals, supervising registration through the official support channels, and ensuring that schools are equipped with the basic IT tools and internet connectivity needed to participate.

The Inspire Lives virtual classes are open to both public and private schools across the country, marking one of the federal government’s most expansive e-learning initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes through technology.
