The 2nd edition of National Archery Championship for the year 2021 has commenced in Abuja on Monday under the auspices of the Nigeria Archery Federation.
The event will be the basis of selecting the athletes/archers that will be representing the country at major continental and international Archery events henceforth.
During the federation’s election, the board of the Federation led by Mohammed Abdullahi pledged to spread the sport across the length and breadth of the country.
“We have been able to achieve our desire to make Archery a household name as the Federation has so far groomed and nurtured athletes to an appreciable level,” Abdullahi said.
The event is expected to attract about 125 athletes and officials from the various states of the federation for the event scheduled to hold between June 21 and June 26, 2021.
Teams from states, clubs and affiliated institutions such as the Police, Army, Navy, Airforce, Immigration, Correctional Service, Road Safety are to slug it out in their crave to be part of Team Nigeria in Archery.
