In the wake of a harrowing vehicle explosion on the Keffi-Kugbo road in Abuja, the National Blood Service Agency (NBSA) has made an impassioned appeal to Nigerians, particularly those in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to step forward and donate blood.
The catastrophic incident, which occurred on the 19th of March, 2025, has left multiple casualties in desperate need of urgent medical attention.
As hospitals and emergency teams battle to save lives, the availability of blood remains a critical factor in their life-saving efforts.

In a statement released late Wednesday, the agency underscored the dire need for voluntary blood donations.
“We urge all eligible donors to visit designated blood donation centers and hospitals across the FCT to make voluntary blood donations. Your generosity can make the difference between life and death for those in critical condition,” the statement read.
Now, more than ever, a single act of kindness could mean survival for those clinging to life.
