As preparations intensify for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections slated for Saturday, the 21st of February, 2026, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced a revision to its Abuja–Kaduna train operations for the day.

The update was communicated in an official statement released on Thursday, the 19th of February, 2026, by the Corporation’s Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu.

According to the statement, passengers traveling from Abuja to Kaduna on election day should take note of a change in departure time, as the train will leave earlier than previously scheduled.

“There will be a slight adjustment to the outbound train schedule from Abuja to Kaduna on Saturday, 21 February 2026, due to the FCT Council Elections,” the NRC said, adding that the train will now leave at 7:30 a.m.

The Corporation further clarified that the return journey from Kaduna to Abuja remains unchanged, with the train set to depart at 2:30 p.m. as originally planned.
