Rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has alleged that former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has suffered a dramatic fall from influence, which he described as a consequence of karma.
Adeyanju claimed that Malami showed little regard for the rule of law during his time in office.
In a post shared via his X handle on Tuesday, the 6th of January, 2026, the activist accused the former AGF of consistently disregarding court orders while serving in government.
He wrote: “Malami didn’t believe in rule of law even as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and didn’t obey several court orders as AGF.
“Look at him today, reduced to absolutely nothing by karma. Those in power always forget they will soon be out of power.”

Adeyanju’s remarks come amid legal proceedings involving Malami and his son, who have both been ordered to remain in Kuje Correctional Centre until the 7th of January, when their bail applications will be ruled upon.
The order was issued on Friday, the 2nd of January, 2026, by Justice Emeka Nwite after hearing submissions from both the prosecution and defence on the bail requests of the three defendants facing trial over alleged N9bn corruption charges brought by the federal government.
