Eight days to the November 6 Anambra governorship election, there is palpable tension in the state as policemen challenged some gunmen in different communities.
It was gathered that gunmen invaded some Communities, such as Onitsha, Ekwulobia, Umuchu, in Onitsha, Aguata local government areas respectively.
A source revealed that two security officers of a yet to be disclosed outfit were allegedly killed at Ekwulobia, by unknown gunmen.
The shooting at Ekwulobia scared away, members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, as they planned to conclude the ongoing campaign rally.
Another source had it that those unknown gunmen who were in a sienna opened fire at Ekwulobia around 11am, and shot the officers, as various people were allegedly injured.
It was also gathered that the Commissioner of Police, Echeng Eworo Echeng embarked on a show of force, across the state.
A source said the Commissioner and his team repelled some attacks purportedly planned by unknown Gunmen, as they took to their heels, at the sight of the Police Boss.
When contacted, the State Public Relation Officer DSP, Tochukwu Ikenga said he was yet to receive full details about the Ekwulobia incident.
