Flybird Aircraft Management Services Ltd has confirmed that all passengers and crew aboard one of its aircraft were safe following an unusual landing incident at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on Sunday morning.
The aircraft, with registration number 5N-ISB, was en route from Abuja to Kano when it encountered difficulties during landing at about 9:30 a.m. The jet had 11 passengers and three crew members on board.
Eyewitnesses at the airport said the aircraft came to a stop on the runway, after which passengers were immediately evacuated. No injuries were reported.
In a statement issued in Lagos and signed by its Corporate Communications team, Flybird described the incident as an unusual landing, noting that established safety procedures were followed.
“The flight crew followed all established operational and safety procedures, bringing the aircraft to a safe stop,” the company said.

Flybird confirmed that all passengers and crew disembarked safely and that the aircraft had been secured. The incident, the company added, has been formally reported to the relevant aviation authorities.
According to the statement, a detailed technical inspection and investigation have commenced in line with regulatory requirements.
The company reiterated its commitment to safety and operational excellence and pledged full cooperation with aviation authorities as investigations continue.
