Airtel Nigeria has increased its data and call tariffs, citing economic pressures such as inflation and foreign exchange fluctuations.

The revised pricing structure was published on the company’s website on Monday, February 17.

Although Airtel has not released an official statement, a senior official confirmed to journalists that the tariff hike was “not up to 50 per cent.”

Despite the adjustments, the company assured customers of continued affordability, stating, “Whatever your data needs are, we have a plan for you. Our fast, affordable, and reliable internet service will keep you connected anytime, anywhere. To get started, dial *312#.”

The new pricing affects daily, weekly, and monthly data plans.

Under the revised structure, customers can now get 40MB for ₦50 or 100MB for ₦100, both valid for a day. The three-day plan now offers 200MB for ₦200, while the one-day 1GB plan costs ₦350.

A weekly bundle of 350MB is now priced at ₦350, while ₦500 can get users either 750MB with additional YouTube Night and streaming bonuses or 1GB with similar benefits.

The two-day plan offers 2GB for ₦500, while a seven-day plan provides 5GB for ₦1,500.

For monthly plans, Airtel now offers 1.2GB for ₦1,000, bundled with 1GB YouTube Night and extra streaming data. The ₦1,200 plan includes 1.5GB with 2GB YouTube Night and similar bonuses.

Customers can get 3GB for ₦1,500, 4.5GB for ₦2,000, and 6GB for ₦2,500, all with additional night and social media data. The higher-tier plans include 10GB for ₦3,000 and 15GB for ₦4,000, each coming with YouTube Night and Spotify bonuses.

Airtel’s tariff revision follows a similar move by MTN Nigeria, which recently increased its data and call rates with approval from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
