Florence Ajimobi, widow of former Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi, paid an emotional tribute to her late husband on what would have been his 76th birthday. In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, she reflected on Ajimobi’s life, legacy, and enduring influence.
“Today, I remember and celebrate the life of my dear and loving husband on what would have been his 76th birthday,” she wrote. She described his absence as deeply felt but his impact as lasting. “Though time continues its steady march, his presence remains deeply woven into my life – felt in the values he stood for, the lives he touched, and the legacy he left behind,” she added.
Ajimobi, who served as governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, was the first in the state to be elected for two consecutive terms. Florence Ajimobi described her late husband’s life as one of purpose, service, and love. “He lived with purpose, served with conviction, and loved with a depth that continues to guide and inspire me,” she said.
She expressed gratitude for the 40 years they shared, noting, “His absence is felt, yet his impact endures. I honour him not in sorrow alone, but in gratitude, for the lessons taught, and the strength his life continues to give me.”
