Popular Yoruba actor Akin Olaiya has announced the end of his marriage to his wife, Nafeesat Feenah Hammed, less than a year after they tied the knot.
In a formal statement, the actor disclosed that the decision followed several unsuccessful attempts to resolve differences after his wife allegedly moved out of their matrimonial home.
Olaiya revealed that their marriage was solemnised on June 29, 2025, at the Central Mosque, Sabo, Mokola, Ibadan, in the presence of family members and loved ones.
According to him, the crisis began shortly after the wedding when they were scheduled to attend an event in Lagos.
He claimed that his wife later informed him that she was no longer interested in attending the engagement.

The actor further alleged that before he returned home that day, Nafeesat had packed her personal belongings and left the house without prior notice.
Olaiya said he made several efforts to reconcile with his wife, including reaching out to her directly and meeting with members of her family in a bid to restore peace and save the marriage.
However, he stated that all attempts at reconciliation were unsuccessful, as his wife allegedly remained firm in her decision not to continue with the relationship.
In the dissolution notice, the actor declared that the marriage had come to an end, stating that Nafeesat was no longer his wife following her refusal to return or reconsider her decision.
