Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State on Monday stormed the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress. and allegedly parked his vehicle at the space reserved only for the party Chairman.
Bello was said to have also held an emergency meeting with some members of the caretaker committee of the APC ahead of his assumption of the leadership of the party.
This happened as the spokesman of the party’s CECPC, James Akpanudoedehe, debunked the reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered for Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni’s removal as APC chairman and replacement with Bello.
Akpanudoedehe had described reports of Buni’s removal as fake news and said that he would remain the chairman of the party and would oversee its affairs until the election of new members of the National Working Committee on March 26 Convention.
But Bello is said to have convened the Monday meeting in order to implement President Buhari’s directive on the removal of Buni as the chairman of the ruling party’s caretaker committee.
