To facilitate the exercise, the commissioner said movement would be restricted throughout the state between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.
He explained that the restriction would not apply to essential service providers, including security personnel, healthcare workers, ambulance operators, journalists, fire service officials and other authorised personnel.
Mefor also reminded developers putting up new buildings to comply with existing regulations by providing catch pits to ensure proper management of runoff water.
He urged residents to support the environmental initiative, warning that anyone who violates the directive would face prosecution in accordance with the law.
