The Obidient Movement has thrown its weight behind George Moghalu, endorsing him as the Labour Party candidate for the upcoming Anambra governorship election scheduled for November 8, 2025.
In a statement on Tuesday, September 16, National Coordinator Yunusa Tanko confirmed the decision after a series of engagements with Moghalu where he laid out his vision for the state.
“We declare, without reservation or equivocation, our absolute and thunderous endorsement of Dr. George Moghalu as the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for Anambra State in the November 8, 2025 election,” Tanko said.

The movement praised Moghalu as a leader defined by integrity, competence, and a firm commitment to the masses, insisting that his candidacy embodies the values Anambra needs to achieve meaningful transformation.
Tanko highlighted Labour Party’s confidence in the election, pointing to the 2.8 million registered voters across 21 local government areas.
He also described Moghalu as a defender of the people, an alternative to entrenched political interests, and a figure capable of ushering in a new era of growth, justice, and equity.
