The Solution Innovation District (SID) has entered into a strategic partnership with Dhahran Techno Valley Holding Company (DTVC) to promote collaboration in research, innovation, entrepreneurship and technology commercialisation.
The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a high-level innovation engagement in Beijing, according to a statement issued on Saturday by Law Mefor.
The agreement marks the beginning of what officials describe as a strategic alliance aimed at accelerating innovation-driven economic growth across Africa and the Middle East.
Under the arrangement, both organisations will collaborate on startup and venture acceleration through joint programmes designed to nurture emerging companies and innovative technologies.
The initiatives are expected to focus on sectors including energy, sustainability and other emerging technological fields.
The partnership will also explore frameworks for co-investment in high-potential startups and transformative technologies, while encouraging the exchange of expertise, best practices and research insights between both institutions.
In addition, the agreement provides for the creation of networking and collaboration platforms connecting startups, investors, researchers and industry leaders.
Both parties also plan to co-host international summits, workshops and business-to-business engagements aimed at strengthening global innovation networks.
Speaking on the development, Chinwe Okoli, who also serves as Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Innovation and Business Incubation, described the partnership as a significant milestone for the state and Nigeria’s broader innovation ecosystem.
“This collaboration represents a major milestone for Anambra State and Nigeria’s innovation ecosystem,” Okoli said.
