Anambra’s Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

Onyinyechi Basil representing Anambra State has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025, after an electrifying finale at the Balmoral Event Centre in Lagos on Saturday night, August 30, 2025.

The 25-year-old beauty queen triumphed over 21 other contestants in a competition that featured swimsuit, evening gown, and question-and-answer segments.

Basil emerged victorious ahead of Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, who finished as first runner-up. Fortune Kurobo of Bayelsa took second runner-up, Irene Ikediashi of Ogun came third runner-up, while Idah Eno of Akwa Ibom completed the top five and clinched the separate crown of Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.

In her crowning moment, Basil received the coveted sash and crown amid thunderous applause, marking her official role as Nigeria’s representative to the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Thailand later this year.
