A man, identified as Samaila Liman, suspected to be mentally unstable
has been killed after he was beaten to death by a mob for allegedly stealing a phone in Zamfara.
The victim was accused of stealing an Infinix phone said to belong to the wife of a resident, Alhaji Yazidu Atto.
This was disclosed in a post by security analyst and counter- insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, on Tuesday.
The victim is from the Furfuri Village in Bungudu Local Government Area.
An eyewitnesses said that as soon as an alarm was raised, residents and passersby descended on the man, attacking him until he lost consciousness.

The man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
However, some human right groups and residents have condemned the tragic killings use by mobs and demand for a better public awareness on mental health and lawful means of addressing crimes in the state.
Community leaders in the have appealed for calm and urged residents to refrain from taking the law into their own hands, stressing the importance of preserving human dignity and seeking proper legal channels in addressing grievances.
The police have commenced an investigation into the gruesome killing of Liman.
