The All Progressives Congress candidate for Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly election, Olaitan Folorunsho, has commended the leadership of the party and the peaceful conduct of the recently concluded primary election that produced him as the APC flag bearer.
Folorunsho, popularly known as OlaWestern, emerged victorious in the primary election after polling 3,161 votes out of the 3,303 votes cast, defeating three other aspirants to clinch the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a press conference on Tuesday at his constituency office in Lagos, the APC candidate expressed appreciation to party leaders, delegates, and supporters for what he described as a transparent, peaceful, and credible exercise.
“I am deeply honoured by the massive turnout, the show of love and the overwhelming support received during this peaceful and hitch-free primary process,” Folorunsho said.
His emergence has continued to attract reactions and commendations from party stakeholders and supporters across the constituency, many of whom described the outcome as a major boost for the APC ahead of the next election cycle.
Folorunsho urged party members and residents of Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I to remain united and committed to ensuring victory for the APC in the January 2027 elections.

“We must continue to support candidates who possess the experience and capacity to move the constituency forward.
Our focus should remain on strengthening the party and ensuring victory at the polls,” he stated.
The APC flag bearer also unveiled parts of his agenda for the constituency if elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly, promising to prioritise grassroots development, empowerment initiatives, and people-oriented programmes.
“My mission at the Lagos State House of Assembly is to champion grassroots development, empowerment initiatives and projects that will positively impact the lives of the people,” he added.
Folorunsho further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as visionary leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that ongoing infrastructural projects and economic reforms were beginning to positively impact the country.
Party leaders and supporters attributed his landslide victory to his grassroots popularity, long-standing loyalty to the APC, and active community engagement over the years.
With his emergence, Folorunsho is expected to lead the APC into the Amuwo-Odofin Constituency I contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2027, amid growing confidence among supporters in his ability to deliver effective representation and constituency development.
