APC Chieftain Ejeh Udeh Shot Dead by Gunmen in Otukpo

Shock and grief have engulfed Otukpo, Benue State, following the brutal killing of Hon. Ejeh Udeh, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday when armed men stormed Udeh’s residence in Ugboju around midnight. Witnesses said the assailants, who arrived on a motorcycle, had laid in wait before ambushing him.

Upon entering his compound, Udeh was attacked and shot multiple times at close range in front of his wife and children.

Neighbours reported hearing sporadic gunshots that shattered the quiet of the night, sparking panic in the community. By the time residents rushed to the scene, Udeh was found lifeless in a pool of blood.

The killing has thrown the area into mourning, with residents describing him as a “grassroots mobilizer” and a strong pillar of APC support in the region.

While security operatives are yet to issue an official statement, locals and party stakeholders are calling for a swift investigation to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The assassination comes against the backdrop of rising insecurity in Benue, marked by violent attacks, abductions, and political unrest.

APC members and community leaders are expected to intensify calls in the coming days for accountability and justice over Udeh’s death.
