APC Has No Answer To Insecurity, Says Dalung

Former Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, has criticised the Federal Government over the worsening security situation across the country, accusing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of failing to provide solutions to the crisis.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, June 5, Dalung expressed concern over the continued attacks, kidnappings and killings in several parts of Nigeria.

He maintained that the APC-led administration had failed to effectively address the security challenges confronting the country.

“The All Progressive Congress, APC, in all ramifications, seems not to have solution to the security challenges confronting this country, and it pained me so much.

“The Federal Government has completely and woefully failed, and they don’t seem to have any iota of solution to the ravaging insecurity that is across the country.”

The former minister also highlighted the situation in Plateau State, where he said insecurity has made travel increasingly dangerous.

According to him, some communities displaced by violent attacks have become frustrated and now vent their anger on travellers and motorists.

“In Plateau State now, it is not safe for you to travel on the highways, not because of the fear of terrorism, but you will run into a community that has been displaced by terrorists, and in anger they will take over the highways and begin to attack vehicles that look like those of leaders,” Dalung said.

His comments come amid renewed concerns over rising insecurity, including kidnappings, banditry and attacks on communities in several parts of the country, with calls growing for stronger measures to protect lives and property.
