APC Suspends Birnin Kebbi LG Chair From Party Over Misconduct

The Kebbi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has suspended the Chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area, Alhaji Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa, from all party activities over alleged misconduct.

The suspension, which takes immediate effect, was announced on Monday, December 29, 2025 by the party’s Kebbi Central Zonal leadership.

In a statement signed by the Zonal Vice Chairman, Abubakar Bello, the APC accused Ambursa of engaging in actions considered detrimental to party unity, discipline and cohesion.

According to the party, the suspended chairman allegedly acted in ways that “undermine, ridicule, embarrass and disunite the party,” conduct said to be in violation of Article 21(2)(ii) of the APC Constitution, as amended.

The statement directed that Ambursa be barred from entering any APC office or participating in party activities while the suspension lasts, warning that further infractions could attract stiffer sanctions, including expulsion.

The party said the decision followed internal reports and consultations, stressing that discipline remains critical to maintaining internal cohesion as the APC prepares for future political engagements in Kebbi State.

The suspension is strictly a party disciplinary action and is separate from any legislative or administrative processes within the local government system.
