Nigerian hip-hop star Jude Abaga, fondly called M.I, has opened up about regretting his past support for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The sonorous Rapper said he had backed the APC during the 2015 elections because he believed the then-ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was steeped in corruption.
Reflecting on that decision during a recent appearance on the Menism podcast, M.I admitted that the APC failed to deliver on the hopes many Nigerians had pinned on it.
“I tweeted about the thing (herdsmen attacks) that happened in Benue and a lot of people were saying, ‘But M.I, you supported the APC.

“Yes, I supported APC because at that time, I felt that the PDP government was very corrupt. I was part of the people who lifted my voice to say, ‘Let us stand and bring in democracy.
“As human being, no matter how much you try to be right, you will be wrong [sometimes]. APC unfortunately isn’t the APC of my dreams.”
Now, M.I says he is channeling his energy into working with like-minded young people, using music and his influence to contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
