Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is still in the custody of the anti-graft agency as of Thursday night.
Oluomo was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Thursday morning and later flown to Abuja.
Sources at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja said that the embattled Speaker was still being grilled by the anti-graft agency’s operatives as of Thursday night.
EFCC flew Oluomo to Abuja for questioning, hours after he was arrested and grilled by the anti-graft agency’s officials in Lagos.
Oluomo is currently in the custody of the EFCC in Abuja over alleged misappropriation and embezzlement of funds.
The Ogun Speaker was said to have been placed on the EFCC wanted list following his failure to honour the commission’s invitation several times.
Oluomo and others were accused of forging signatures and financial documents belonging to the Ogun State House of Assembly.
