Arsenal F.C. maintained their unbeaten run in the UEFA Champions League this season after playing out a 1-1 draw away to Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night.
Both sides produced an intense first-half contest at the BayArena, but neither team was able to find the breakthrough as the opening 45 minutes ended goalless despite several attacking attempts.
The German side struck first shortly after the restart when midfielder Robert Andrich rose highest to head home in the 46th minute, giving Leverkusen a 1-0 lead.

However, Arsenal fought back late in the match. In the 89th minute, Kai Havertz converted from the penalty spot to level the score at 1-1 after Noni Madueke was brought down inside the 18-yard box.
The penalty decision sparked debate among some fans, particularly critics of Arsenal, who questioned whether the challenge warranted a spot kick.
Despite the controversy, the match ended 1-1, leaving the tie finely poised ahead of the second leg scheduled to take place in a week at the Emirates Stadium.
