Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic killing of hunters in Edo State, calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to bring those responsible to justice.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, March 28, Atiku extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, describing the incident as a grave injustice that must not go unpunished.
“This unfortunate incident demands a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation to uncover and ensure that those responsible are brought to book,” he stated.

The former Vice President emphasized that protecting innocent lives should remain paramount, urging authorities to act swiftly and decisively to prevent further cases of mob violence and jungle justice in the country.
“Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done to restore public confidence in our security institutions,” he added.
Atiku’s statement aligns with growing calls from leaders and human rights organizations demanding urgent government intervention to prevent the escalation of ethnic tensions and unlawful killings in Nigeria.
