Arise TV anchor, Reuben Abati, has described comments by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, about former President, Goodluck Jonathan, as disrespectful and dismissive.
Abati made the remarks during the Arise TV Morning Show, where he reacted to Atiku’s recent interview in which he characterised Jonathan as a “decent” but “inexperienced” leader, attributing some of the challenges during his administration to what he suggested was inadequate preparation for leadership.
The comments had sparked criticism from supporters of the former president, who argued that Atiku’s assessment undermined Jonathan’s record in office.

Responding, Abati said Atiku’s remarks crossed the line, questioning the basis of such an assessment given Jonathan’s achievement of holding the nation’s highest office.
“He said Atiku’s comments were “condescending and very rude. Jonathan was president of this country, a position that Atiku didn’t even get to.
“He is still aspiring to get there 30 years after his initial aspiration. He is aspiring to become what the former president has already achieved”, he said.
