Awoniyi Set To Join Coventry City From Nottingham Forest

Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi is reportedly on the verge of leaving Nottingham Forest for Coventry City in a permanent transfer.

The Nigerian forward has agreed personal terms with Coventry, with the deal said to have been completed ahead of his move to the Championship club.

Awoniyi is currently undergoing his medical examinations at Coventry City, according to transfer reports.

The 28-year-old is expected to link up with former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard, who is in charge of Coventry City.

The move will bring an end to Awoniyi’s spell at Nottingham Forest, where he joined from Union Berlin in 2022.

Coventry are understood to have secured the Nigerian striker on a permanent basis as they strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Awoniyi will now look to complete the formalities of the transfer before being officially unveiled by the club.

The Nigerian international will be hoping for regular playing time at Coventry as he seeks to regain his best form and make a strong return to consistent first-team football.
