One person was killed and four others abducted after suspected bandits attacked farmers near Wasagu town in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The attack occurred on Wednesday, about one kilometre from the community, while the victims were working on their farms, according to conflict reporter Bakatsine, who disclosed the incident on Thursday, August 6, 2026,
The assault has renewed security concerns in the area, where repeated attacks have continued to disrupt farming activities.
It follows a July 30 clash at Tudun Bicci, also in Danko/Wasagu, where four people, including two forest guards and two civilians, were killed during an encounter involving security operatives and suspected bandits. A soldier was also reported missing.

Earlier in May, 13 residents of Tangaram village in Wasagu District were abducted, while troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued four kidnap victims in Surimi in July.
Bakatsine also reported, citing local sources, that nearly 50 residents of Wasagu and neighboring communities remained in bandits’ captivity, though the claim had not been independently verified.
The latest attack has deepened concerns over the safety of farmers and the impact of insecurity on livelihoods and food production in the area.
As of Thursday, security agencies had not issued an official statement on the incident, and the whereabouts of the four abducted victims remained unknown.
