Bauchi Govt donates operational vehicles to seven new district heads

Bauchi State Government has reiterated its determination to provide all the needed supports that would facilitate activities of traditional and community leaders towards complementing its efforts in ensuring peace and security in the state.

The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Alhaji Aliyu Ahmed Jalam gave the commitment while presenting brand new operational vehicles to seven newly appointed District Heads across the state.

They include District Head of Duguri in Alkaleri Local Government Area, Jawo in Katagum local government and Akuyam in Misau local government.

Others are District Heads of Jama’are, Hanafari, Galdimari and Dogon Jeji all in Jama’are local government area of the state.

Presenting the vehicles at Government House, Bauchi Tuesday, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Jalam said the state government has recognized the role of traditional institutions in addressing various forms of crime and criminality, and assured to sustain the effort.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Title Holders, the District Head of Jama’are, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Wabi appreciated the government for the gesture noting that the move would ease their duties.

He commended Governor Bala Mohammed and the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for recognizing traditional institutions in government policies and programmes.
